DVS: A Drone Video Synopsis towards Storing and Analyzing Drone Surveillance Data in Smart Cities

چکیده
The commercialization and advancement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have increased in the past decades for surveillance. UAVs use gimbal cameras LIDAR technology monitoring as they are resource-constrained devices that composed limited storage, battery power, computing capacity. Thus, UAV’s surveillance camera data must be analyzed, extracted, stored efficiently. Video synopsis is an efficient methodology deals with shifting foreground objects time domain space, thus creating a condensed video analysis storage. However, traditional methodologies not applicable making abnormal behavior (e.g., only person carrying revolver). To mitigate this problem, we proposed early fusion-based synopsis. There drastic difference between existing methods it has several pressing characteristics. Initially, fused 2D 3D point cloud data; Secondly, performed object detection using customized detector on merged finally extracted meaningful We demonstrated satisfactory results while fusing, constructing synopsis, detecting object; achieved mAP 85.97%.

Autonomous Drone
For our senior project we modified a quadcopter so that it can fly autonomously and land whenever a camera detects a red target. The quadcopter uses four infrared sensors to avoid obstacles and an off-board camera to detect targets. Whenever the camera sees a red target, it tells the quadcopter to land. Our project was mostly successful; we were not able to attach the camera to the quadcopter d...

Following an initiative formalized in April 2016—formally known as ARL West—between the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and University of Southern California’s Institute for Creative Technologies (USC ICT), a field experiment was coordinated and executed in the summer of 2016 by ARL, USC ICT, and Headwall Photonics. The purpose was to image part of the USC main campus in Los Angeles, USA, u...
متن کاملDrone Targeted Cryptography
As flying, camera-bearing drones get smaller and lighter, they increasingly choke on the common ciphers as they interpret their commands, and send back their footage. New paradigm cryptography allows for minimum power, adjustable randomness security to step in, and enable this emerging technology to spy, follow, track, and detect. E.g.: to find survivors in a collapsed structure. We describe he...
متن کاملAutonomous Exploration and Data Gathering with a Drone
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are agile and are able to fly in and out of areas that are either dangerous for humans or have complex terrains making ground robots unsuitable. For their autonomous operation, the ability to explore unmapped areas is imperative. This has applications in data gathering tasks, search and rescue etc. The objective of this thesis is to ascertain that it is, in fact, ...
متن کاملEmbodied Flight with a Drone
Most human-robot interfaces, such as joysticks and keyboards, require training and constant cognitive effort and provide a limited degree of awareness of the robots state and its environment. Embodied interactions, instead of interfaces, could bridge the gap between humans and robots, allowing humans to naturally perceive and act through a distal robotic body. Establishing an embodied interacti...
